Posted: 01/23/06 - 14:12 Post subject: Forced to cheer for Steelers
My best friend is a Steelers fan (God bless her!) and has been since she was about 10 years old (God bless her even more...). This was also my friend who helped plan my 40th birthday party (you'll understand why this is important later..).
My DH thought we needed to have a Super Bowl party this year since we have a big screen TV and some space to actually have people over. Since neither of our teams (Raiders and the ALL-MIGHTY-PACKERS!!!) were teh suck this year and even our hometown team turned out to be teh suck we didn't really have a team to cheer for during the Super Bowl.
So, back to my friend...
Of course, she has been invited to the party and she "ever so politely" tells us we have to use the leftover party supplies (from my birthday) at the Super Bowl party. I was thinking Why the heck would it matter that we use those to her??? It's not like she will have to do the dishes or anything before she leaves. So I was like Then she says...they are PERFECT colors....Oh yeah....gold and black...
So, whether I like it or not my house will be decorated in gold and black the day of the Super Bowl...especially if SHE has anything to say about it.
Dang, and I thought I might root for the Seahawks...

The only way I will cheer for the Steelers is if some Pittsburgh native has a freaking suite at the super bowl and invites me.
ummmm, this is a possibility, and my kind of freaking luck, too.

Hey Kimba! You see that? The Ray-duhs and the Pack! Wow, and to think that the Browns looked bad and won a total of six games. It seems like so very, very long ago. I can hardly recall...there's a vague memory of some road victories...nope, still too vague. Any help, Kimba?

Wow, that was so long, long ago...but didn't the Brownies..hmm, beat both the Pack and the Raiders?????
I haven't watched the Superbowl in years. In fact, the last year I was even mildly interested was the ..89 or 90 season, Cinti vs SF?
And I was trying to root for Cinti, I really was. (I lived there at the time!) I was driving in my car from Toledo back to Cinti, listening to the game on the radio, and whatever happened, which put SF ahead, I cheered loudly for SF...and realized I was just still a Browns fan at heart.
So yeah, even though I'm still disinterested in this Superbowl, I still can't root for Pittsburgh.

I believe that you are correct!! I'm not sure, but didn't the Brownies win IN Oakland and IN Green Bay?
Saw a mock draft for the top ten spots in this year's extravaganza. Sorry...the Browns weren't drafting in the top ten. See, that was the Bengals' strategy for, oh, fifteen years?
