You can go here and vote for the best of the best...

You can even enter the competition yourself !!!

Kiwis mime way to top
25 May 2006

The Crusaders-Hurricanes match isn't the only big final involving New Zealand teams this weekend.

Another bunch of Kiwis is in the semifinal of a global video lip-synching competition being held on website Gidol.

http://www.googleidol.com

Gidol is short for Google Idol, a website launched in March that draws over 500,000 visitors a month.

It showcases videos of lip-synching wannabes from around the world and has attracted a cult following in Europe because of the send-up style of entries.

And a group of young Kiwis back home from their big OE – Joe and Friends – are proving a smash hit on the knockout website competition as they groove along to the Leo Sayer song You Make Me Feel Like Dancing.

The Internet competition runs in a similar fashion to the television version, with people submitting videos which are culled by organisers to a starting group of 16. Website visitors can then vote for their favourite Gidol once a day.

One week out from the final round, Joe and Friends are up against Belgian entry KSA to see who meets the winner of the other semifinalists from England and the Netherlands.

Joe Whitehead, who made and stars in the lip-synching parody, said the video was shot while on a trip to iconic places such as Taupo, Rotorua and an Indian restaurant in Ponsonby, Auckland, and was intended as a "picture postcard" to cheer up mates in England.
