STEVE SPURRIER!!! HA! have we started the pool on how long til he goes back to college ball?
I gotta say Dom Capers (surprise, surprise) but he definitely is the go-to guy if you're starting a franchise. I think the Tuna is also a decent coach but I really have trouble saying anything nice about the cowgirls.

He's not currently coaching anyone is he? | The Packers are probably wishing he were right about now.

no doubt.
He'd be my top of all time, definately.
Parcells for the current crop, though.

How do you feel about Tom Landry?
There was a lot to like about him.

No one really stands out today like a Lombardi, Landry, or Shula. May be a couple if they can continue to put out high-caliber teams over the next three or four years (who already have a good track record), like Jeff Fisher.
I pass on guys like Parcells because they don't stick around a team long enough. Understand the argument that "(coach) can be succesful with this many teams, it must say something for his ability." But I think you have to be with a team a good five years at least, and get them in the playoffs practically every year, to deserve the rep as a better-than-good coach.

Good Point on Jeff Fisher...He's a very overlooked coach.
I agree on Lombardi, Landry, and Shula.
Parcells did have many, many good years with the Giants, before he assumed the role he has taken with the Pats, Jets, and now Cowboys...that's why I'd rate him above most of the rest.

After reading through this thread, it is very obvious to me that I really know nothing about this stuff. Therefore I will defer to the mighty Pfffff on all professional sports* questions.
*except for tennis.
