Looks like the journalist Ms. Heinz Kerry told to go shove it is getting death threats and love mail. How nice:

The one who you think is a weirdo served as a spokesperson for the American Diabetic Association. She has a foundation called The Patti LaBelle Medical Education Scholarship Fund that is administered through the National Medical Association. She also served as the spokesperson for the National Minority AIDS Council’s “Live Long Sugar” campaign; and the National Cancer Institute. She also took in two children of her late sister Jackie in addition to raising three children of her own.

clearly, i'm a POS comparatively speaking. i'll never make a pimple on Ms. LaBelles behind. She is rich and famous and lends her name to the American Diabetes Association. She gets to be spokesperson for an AIDS org and the NCI; truly very valuable stuff...... I wish she would try her hand at parenting a type 1 diabetic baby, injections included, and not lose her mind. then, she gains credibility in my book. until then, she's a hollyweirdo and should keep her political pimp slappin' comments to herself.

Just because she is a spokesperson for a certain cause that is dear to someone, can that give the speaker a free pass. I may give them more latitude but, I would expect better from some people who are endorsing a charity that I am involved with.
I would rather the people buck up for charities instead of making public appearances and feeling good about it.
Let people like her be in mine, RR, Gman's, or Omegas shoes while our children suffered (or suffered).
