If I flew from Chicago to Heathrow and had a layover in London for 12 hours before heading to Johannesburg, could I leave the airport?

General consensus in our missions group is no because we wouldn't get cleared again. I think their thinking is flawed. Besides, I wanna take the chunnel!

I don't know, but, my guess is no. Security, particularly with international flights, is tight. I have some personal experience in this area.

How long is the flight from London to Johannesburg? Sounds looonnngg. But going to Johannesburg sounds awesome thumbs up

part 2: the chunnel? Nothing spectacular. Just a quick way to get back and forth between Paris and London. You're only under the channel for a few minutes. Its like any other tunnel. dunno Oh, but pricey.

And millions of pounds of water waiting to crush the very last breath out of your body---any second--wondering, wondering, was this a "lowest bidder" job????

I'd rather take the chunnel than take a bridge several hundred feet above the water.

Would it be physically possible to go from Heathrow to the coast, take the chunnel to France, turn around and get back to Heathrow all in 12 hours?
