I am very, very flexible, and I DON'T think it helped me avoid injury all that much when I was running. I had everything from "runner's knee" to stress fractures (one in my right femur) to ITB syndrome to the dreaded and painful piriniformis pain.

I do a lot of yoga, some Pilates, but, I also was in ballet and gymnastics for a long time when I was younger. Maybe that sort of made me flexible?

I do like yoga, and Pilates will kick your butt!!! (especially core muscles).

I do think it just helps in general. WHo knows when being able to get your ankle behind your ear will come in handy?? Twisted Evil
