Do any of you have links to help find a group? I'm thinking Muncie, Indiana area since I'm not up for driving to Indy everytime.

Closest group I could find is in Indy.

Few questions:

1. Does one just show up and say they are interested in learning more about the group?

2. Do the groups normally charge? The one in Indy is $5/hash in order to help pay for beer. I don't drink.

Yes, you can just show up.

Normally, virgins (first time hashers) are free... then they charge for each hash after that. The amount per hash (commonly known as hash cash) depends on the kennel (that particular club)... each group is different.

For example. Sin City (the Cincinnati Chapter) Charges $7 hash cash.
Dayton is $5
Music City (Nashville) is $6
Mobile is $6

There are normally a few people in each group that don't drink. What happens is this. The beer runs out and they take a collection for more beer. Just don't chip in at that point. Hash cash should also be used to buy soft drinks. If they don't buy your soft drinks, speak up!!! They will!!!

I hope you give it a try! and have fun with it! Keep an open mind... the nicknames and songs (some of the sexual innuendo involved) can shock you if you are not expecting it.

Well, I'll have to wait until my knee strengthens up a little more. Today I was able to get 1.5 miles with only mild discomfort. I'm biking tomorrow and will try running again on Friday.

Le me know when you're going to go to Indy. I'd be interested in going up there and meeting you for your virgin hash.
