Excellent episode. Loved the ending. Keeps you hungry for more.... I originally thought that Johnny Sac was coming after Tony when him took off running in the snow. Loved the music and the tie into the Van Morrison song "Greetings from NY." Timed perfectly as the show came to a close.
Any idea on when the next season starts? Hopefully, we won't have to wait for 16+ months this time!

May I jump in here with a hijack? I used to watch the Sopranos when I lived with my parents (who were willing to pay for HBO, I'm not) and now that its up to me I no longer have access to HBO and thus don't keep up. I do think the last season I saw may have been the last season that aired prior to this one, around 2+ years ago, is this correct or am I 2 seasons behind? and wasn't this current season supposed to be the last? Is there more? Just trying to see how far behind I am

The season that just ended (last night) was the first Soprano's "season" in 16 months, if I recall correctly. I believe this was the 5th season for The Family.
I think the season prior to this one (Season 4) ended its original run in late Fall, 2002. Don't know how that all fits into your timeline.
They took a pretty long hiatus.
P.S. HBO is the best $12 I spend each month after the $5 I spend on TiVO.

It was an okay episode that wrapped up some stuff that needed to be wrapped. I thought the previous episode with Adrianna was better, though.
I would imagine that there won't be so much of a delay between seasons. The last delay was caused, in part, because of contract disputes (Gandolfini in particular). I would hope that wouldn't happen this time around for the final season. David Chase has said that there are only 10 episodes for Season 6, so it will be a fairly short one.

I read this morning that the next season will begin in 18 months. I'm hoping that's not true, but wouldn't surprise me.

Okay, then I'm only one season behind. But, wasn't this season (that just ended) supposed to be the last at one point?
My Tivo is paid up and currently I don't even have cable, so I'd have to pay $70 more a month or so to get HBO

from hbo: ( http://www.hbo.com/sopranos/about/index.shtml ) : "HBO and series creator David Chase have already reached an agreement for a sixth season, with that season's ten episodes to begin production in early 2005."
If production begins in say, January, could mean summer before we see the first episode. Oh, how they do make us wait!

Wish I had one. It's a blurb in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram. I had to go search for exactly where I saw that spot. Who know's if it's reliable or not. If they aren't starting production 'til Jan., I'd be surprised to see them by summer. David Chase has certainly taken his time with the series. I don't see him rushing the final season.

If only Johnny Sack had gotten caught a few days earlier, Steve Buscemi mightn't have been around for another season. Bummer. He is too super to be gone. I am still shocked that Adriana got clipped but oh well.

Thanks for linking Kattzoo... Good article.
18 months is a long time to way for another season.

I was kinda disapointed. I was hoping for more of a big mob shoot out.
I thought it was interesting that Dr Melfi helped Tony make his decision about offing his cousin..
They had me going at the end. I thought for sure Tony was going to get arrested, and just end things on a big suspenseful note. Sure, it was good writing and a good way to neatly wrap up the power struggle between Tony and John Sack.
The scene with Tony and Junior was good too. Tony was actually seeking advice from the old man and Junior was off in one of his less than lucid moods.
Ok, I guess I did like the episode!
