LC and I went to an orchard near the Wisconsin state line Saturday. Came back with a peck-and-a-half of apples - three varieties, but the only name I remember is Cortland.
She made five - count 'em, 5 - pies. Four she took to work. The library people said they were the bestest pies evah. Gee you think with a library and all, some of them would have found some cookbooks, maybe? One was for us. The good news is: 1) there's over half the apples still left and 2) she's baking again tomorrow. This time for us.
