We should start a beer club. We talked about it over at CR but we're small enough here to be able to actually do it. What say y'all?? This would be a great way to try stuff we can't get regionally, like other people's microbrew. |
I think this is a great idea, what do you guys/gals say? I would be in for it. We have lots of Canadian beers that would be worth trying (and no, I'm not talking about that slop Molson or Labatt's).
Beer ships like anything with a careful or fragile label. Put it in a hard case and plenty of bubble wrap. Sent through regular mail I can't imagine it would cost too much.
How about we set up a site or even just a post on this forum with the selection of beers each person has to offer and then anyone interested can request it. To make it fair, if you request a beer (or two) from someone then they request one of yours so each interested party has something to ship and something receive.

2 most favoritest: Brooklyn Oktoberfest (I love ALL their brews) and Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold (best warm). I really miss Okocim Porter . I am not drinking anything pumpkin flavored. Ewww.
I have received care packages of beer from certain beloved RRers. Lots o' bubble wrap on the inside of the box and a message of "FRAGILE - SHAMPOO" on the outside work.

The DFH pumpkin is more of a spiced ale. The pumpkin flavor is very mild.
Brooklyn makes some seriously kick a$$ beer. Their Black Chocolate Stout is one of my favorites.

I have only one left of my famous (well not really) Ocktoberfest that I brewed 2 years ago. Every night I think about tapping into that bad boy but I can't stand the thought that once I do, it will be gone...

Then send it to me. I'll create a memory with it and give you a full write-up, even!
