You've never heard of the Oktoberfests?
Forget about the summer beers that nearly every brewery puts out every year. |
I've been to one once, in Denver, years ago. I didn't realize it was a different brew though.
And Genie, YES. Let me know when to expect you.

Anybody else prefer to drink Bourbon and recycle their own urine as beer?
I mean, it can get a little embarrassing at family functions, but for those toasty camp-fire nights alone...
C'mon! Don't tell me it is just me...

I gotta go with Rob and Herr MastrBrewr...if it's in your fridge/cooler, that's my favorite. But...
Damn those people in New Glarus! Instead of expanding to meet the growing demand for their wonderful brews, they shrunk! Yeah, yeah...I know. They said that they didn't want to sacrifice quality for quantity and increasing the supply would've stretched their capabilities, and according to them, would have led to a drop in quality.
So, if you can get something from New Glarus Brewery, do it....then, send it to me.
Now I'm getting thirsty! Is it too early for an Immort Ale? I've got two...first person to show (in the next thirty minutes) gets the other one.

What a fantastic topic. It's nice to know more people that enjoy different beers for different seasons. Though I can't choose any one particular beer related to the season, anything german would be good to help those boys and girls in Munich celebrate. A pumpkin flavoured beer sounds great, never tried one. Anyone want to meet and let me sample? I'll bring some beers of my own.
I start drinking stout in the cooler temperatures. A Guiness or Beamish would be a fine choice. Something to warm me up by the fire on these cold Canadian evenings.

How does one ship beer? I've had a couple orders for Dogfish Head from the poor deprived folks who couldn't get any.......and I want some Punkin Ale, dammit.
We should start a beer club. We talked about it over at CR but we're small enough here to be able to actually do it. What say y'all?? This would be a great way to try stuff we can't get regionally, like other people's microbrew.

I'm so in. I don't brew my own, but I would be happy to send whatever someone cannot get where they are if we have it here.
