Since my father divorced my mother when I was 5 years old I absolutely HATE trying to shop for a Father's Day card for him. All of the cards say stuff like "thanks for always being there for me," "you have been such an inspiration," and other crap like that. When is Hallmark going to realize that not all father/daughter relationships are good???

Another thing that drives me crazy about Father's Day and Mother's Day is the fact that they even sell cards from your spouse. It's a day for our kids to celebrate how great their Father (or mother) is.

...and today has been a good day. Smile

Find a generic blank card, usually around the Thank You notes section. Just write in "Happy Father's Day" and sign it.

That's what I would do if my Dad was a putz.

He gets a card, from me, it says Happy Fathers Day, I signed it. No mentions of the words Thank You or Love or Appreciate. Legally, everything is covered.

The only problem with that is that I really take time and energy getting a card for someone. I want the card to say something really nice, yet appropriate. I can't just grab any ol' card off the shelf and head to the checkout. Neutral

I'm sure if there's a golfing forum, good ole' Napoleon would want those guys to get this as a gift.

It is as much as honoring the mother/father as it is celebrating it from the kids.

I can honor and respect Robin for what she does as a mother for our children by showing and modeling our kids affirming the very behavior.

I believe it shows great respect. I also showed them me calling and thanking my mom.
