One of the most exciting and bizarre college football games I've seen in a long time. And because it was at Clemson it was so much fun, although I was exhausted at the end of the game.
Tech appears to be going nowhere when Clemson makes the score 17-7 with 8:19 left in the 4th on a 67 yard untouched running TD. The next series of downs Tech does nothing and you can smell a Clemson victory coming. But after a punt exchange Tech comes back and makes it 17-14 with 4:36 left. Then Clemson scores a 54 yard TD run to make it 24-14 with 3:18 remaining. Tech comes back and makes it 24-21 and there is 1:50 to go. Tech's defense holds and forces Clemson to punt. Clemson squibbles the ball and Tech recovers on the 10 yard line. Tech score with 11 seconds left. Clemson runs the kickoff back to the Tech 31 with 3 seconds left on the clock. Clemson throws to the endzone, Tech knocks down the pass and wins.

Final: Georgia Tech 28 Clemson 24

We got out of Clemson just after midnight and stopped at a Waffle House half-way home. Finally got back at 3:00 this morning. But a great game. And we'll see you Clemson fans in Atlanta next year.

I'm glad to see that someone here at the forum had a great college football weekend! Mr. Green

As I see it now...my season is over! Mad
J/K. The only game the matters is the UF game to me.

Glad to read that you had a great time and that you drove home with a win!

But the advantage for FSU is they lost early in the season. They can still recover and win the National Championship. Whereas if this same game occurs late in the season with the same result the consequences of losing are much more severe.

When Oklahoma lost it's final season game last year the loss knocked them out of several polls as the Number 1 team. Had they lost earlier in the season the polls would have given them the number one or two slot and the legitimate right to play in the BCS Championship bowl.

As far as Georgia Tech, historically when they have a great victory such as this they go out flat the following weak against a weaker opponent. North Carolina is the opponent and on paper should be an easy victory for Tech. But I wouldn't be surprised to see a bare victory or unfortunate upset. Miami is coming to Georgia Tech the first weekend in October.

If Tech beats UNC and meets Miami undefeated, Bobby Dodd Stadium will be a rocking. Smile
