I had a friend in high school who had wrecked her bike while wearing flip flops and lost a toe as a result Shocked closed toe shoes for cycling for me please

That sounds horridly painful. I got my heel stuck in the spokes once when I was about 7, riding barefoot. I can still remember almost passing out when I looked at the cut/blood.

Close toed shoes ever since on a bike.
