Boy am I getting my tail kicked.
Course it don't help that I've had two of my best hitters hurt for a good long time, and now my two best pitchers are both on the DL.
I just made some seriously needed changes to my pitching lineup.
Coach is counting on a comeback!

I'm improving, but my hitters didn't have the best week last week.

next year we need bigger rosters and some different scoring categories to liven things up a little...
not criticizing are current commish, he did a great job setting things up this year and asked for suggestions and i didn't have any at the time.
but i'm in another league that is set up a little differently than ours and it's loads more interesting and challenging....

This is my first time playing FBB. I'm enjoying it a lot and having fun following the different players. I've learned a lot as well.

We have an 8 team league but we have a full 25 man roster...There is room to play 8 postion players and 1 utility player and there are open slots for 7 open slots for playing pitchers. So every day you need to make the decision on which 9 players on your team to bench...
makes you feel more like a manager when you have to bench Sean Casey to insert Derick Lee into your lineup because Lee is on fire over the last couple of weeks for example even though Casey is batting upwards of .340 for the season...
We also have a few defensive scoring categories (assists, fielding %, PO) as well as a couple of different offensive categories.
Categories that we are scored on for postion players are:
H, R, HR, RBI, SH, SB, BB, TB, PO, A, FPCT, AVG, OPS
For Pitcher:
IP, W, L, CG, SHO, SV, OUT, H, HR, TB, ERA, WHIP, K/BB
In other words you need to be a little more selective on who you pick for your team as well as who you play on a day to day basis...

yeah, Some people wanted only offensive categories too in the league. I would have liked to have so defensive categories because it makes the game more realistic

It also makes it way more difficult for most folks to handle.
I've done fantasy baseball for 7 - 8 years now. In my mixed league, we track only 6 categories for offensive and 6 categories for pitching:
BA, OPS, Runs, HR, RBI, & SB's
ERA, Wins, BAA, Saves, WHIP, & K's.
23 man roster: 2 catchers, 4 corner infielders (with at least one 1B and one 3B), 3 middle infielders (with at least one SS and one 2B), 5 outfielders and/or DH's, 9 pitchers. We set a miminum of 1100 innings pitched for the season to prevent folks from talking only relievers. All players accrue stats. You can replace slumping players with free agents and put players on the DL if they get hurt.
Keep it simple is easier for all involved, including the commish, will increase interest and help attract more (new) folks to your league. My 4 cents.
