What? There are places where people don't wear a pistol while running? I believe, and some of the veterans can correct me if I'm wrong, that the organizers will only let you carry a handgun. All shotguns must be left at the start. So unfair!
Weather in December is usually great. It's not unusual for it to be in the 50's. I'd bet race start time would be high 30's. Our week of winter is usually Feb.

The weather is at best unpredictable. It could be in the 30s, or it could be in the 70s. But the course is pretty flat.
Don't know about guns, but they will let you run wearing a chessehead hat.
