Posted: 07/22/04 - 08:50 Post subject: Face all flush
I'm just wondering if anyone else experiences this when running. My face gets all flush from excercise. What is this an indication of?
I'm average height, average weight, and in average shape. I could probably use more excercise than I get (curse of the busy office life) but I wouldn't think I'm that out of shape. I run or bike at least 3 times a week and then some.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Not to sound stupid, but when you say "flush" do you mean red? Or do you mean that the color drains from your face??

My face always gets red when running. I've yet to keel over so I assume it's fairly safe. Actually, I hear its common. Couldn't hurt to check with your Dr. if worried.

Yes very red. I suppose flush might have been the wrong term as it usually refers to embarassment, but the same idea.
red all in the cheeks.

Just wanted to make sure because I too get VERY red in the face
People stop and stare because they think that I may either pass out or explode!
Do you by chance also blush easily? I do which is linked to me getting beet-red when exercising. Turns out that I have rosacea. I have it under control so that it has not done any permanent damage, but I continue to turn red and blush a lot. My friends and co-workers love to see how quickly or easily they can make me blush...oh yeah, lots o fun
You may want to look into rosacea (rosacea.org). Though there really is no way to control the redness you can prevent permanent damage.
Hope this helps!

Yes, similar symptons to yourself (that's me) and a warm feeling all up the face when I'm embarassed. I don't have any redness any other time though (except when I get a sun burn) and my complexion though light, is not really pale. I know Rosacea which is something my wife's family suffers from (British) and notice it's something they tend to always have, despite flush from embarassment or excercise.
Good to hear I'm not the only one with this and it sounds pretty harmless. I thought maybe it was something that was going to lead to me keeling over and dying.
