Leave your itinerary and phone numbers where you can be reached with someone. That way you can be reached if something happens while you are away. You might want to give that person an extra key.
Dispose of your trash somehow (take it to the dump, etc.) and don't let it sit for the time you are gone.

I've heard its better to have someone pick it up for you than to have it stopped since not getting one at all is some sort of signal to burglars... 
If you are having a neighbor keep an eye on the place/pick up the mail, something my parents do is have trash to put out for the next pickup also, just have the neighbor bring your trashcan back in. Just whatever you can do to make it look like you are coming and going day to day. If you have a lawn service, make sure you pay ahead to have them come during the weeks you are gone.

Have a radio, tuned to a talk-all-the-time station on a timer as well. From the outside, it sounds like people are talking inside the house.
