Somebody just brought a zip disk into my office and wanted to know if we had anyway to open the files on it.

Shocked You're kidding me right? That's the computer equiv. of an 8-track. Nobody uses zip disks any more. CD-ROMS are way cheaper and easier to work with.

So someone in our office goes next door and asks them if they can open the files and they send him back over to me with a SCSI Zip drive.

Who still uses SCSI equipment? Not I.

We have zip drives floating around at work but I don't think anyone uses them anymore. I used to back up my harddrive to one everyother week.

We have one person here (in our department) who will not stop using a zip drive. I am waiting on aproval from out technical standards board to get him one. Add this to the fact that he has a CDRW and doesn't need one, plus with XP and the network he also doesn't need one, even from home as he has Roadrunner (our cable modem service). Very annoying. And try explaining this to him AND the TSB, who basically scoffed at me. Grrrrrrr........
