Ewwww. Found the reasons for the overpop. of gnats...

I got rid of some potatoes a coupla weeks ago. They were going bad, but hadn't actually gone bad yet... Well lately we've had gnats out the wazzoo, heaviest concentration being in the kitchen...

Figured out why. In our little side pantry where the potatoes were, one must've climbed out of the bag. It was on the floor. It had decomposed. It was GEL-ish inside. Talk about puke

I cleaned it up (gagme) and sprayed the entire kitchen with flying bug killer. Lots of little gnat carcasses on my floor. Swept and mopped, cleaned off the counters too. Kitchen looks good.

EISH!!!

Learned a valuable lesson here. Either have boxed mashed taters, or eat tater tots! Wink

Be careful with mashed potatoes too. I had some that I just put on top of the fridge in a covered container (not airtight, but covered). I guess I had taken them out of the fridge to get something in the back and just forgotten them up there. It was horrible.
