Posted: 01/06/03 - 13:37 Post subject: Employee Review time your stories
So I get my employee review form last week
on the new masthead with the new form (that
replaced last year's new form).
Trying to figure out what novel to write
this year to beat last year best seller that
had only marginal review (read....company only raise).
This year I'm doing more work.
Got great comments from the VP (of course she also blocked my transfer) last year.
My mentor left in late Apr so I had her duties without the new title (and no raise).
Figure my chances are good.
Filled it out, looked it over and turned it in last Friday
This is the look I got from my boss today.
Greated I use the dilbert method of in dealing with people and I may have hurt my chances with the off hand comment about going to a nude beach and meeting a married couple who's into swinging.
But hey you only live once, and if nothing else there's next year.
The review is later in the week and Wed is my 19 year with the company.
Any review stories out there from the group?
M

I just got my pre-performance review form to fill out. It is the most obnoxious thing evah to try to apply to my position. The short story is, my job is very cyclical and monotonous. There is nothing in the ways of goals I CAN put down. Yet I am to put down 3 to be reviewed on for next review period and evaluate the 3 lame ones I put down last time. And divide up/account for my time (97% time on Riff raff, .5% filing....)
I haven't come up with anything yet. If you have any non-goal goals that are better than "Improve organization" and "Become better at time management" (which, you can't really manage your time if you ahve nothing to do). I love reviews.

Cheryl - You could list as a goal "Post more frequently on runningforums.com" You're a charter member and you still haven't broken 1000 posts.

Well, I like to think I post in quality, not quantity.
For reals, I have to turn this in by friday (very timely Morph, thanks!) Any non-specific goals to put down? after my first one, which is "Train monkey to do my job"

I think a good goal would be to transfer to another position that requires you to use your brain.

That would basically mean leaving the company. I have considered putting that however.

Yeah, I'd say it is. I've only been here 2+ years but I'm going to stay for at least 3 more while I go to school on the side for a new job! One advantage for how boring this one is is that I'll have time/energy for school.
