Well Dancer and I up at the crack of dawn for the trek down to RI for the Duathlon at the Dunes, a 3.5 mile run, 17 mile bike, 3.5 mile run. Started out being very nice out with the course starting directly on the ocean at beautiful Matunuck Beach with the sun shining. Wind picked up during the race, which definitely made the biking a little harder.
I ended up finishing with a time of 1:43, first run was 25:14, first transition was 1:16, bike and second transition were 50:48 which put me around averaging 21 mph, and last run was 26:17. Overall felt OK, had some leg cramping in my calves on the bike which carried over to the second run. Lots of fast bikers there, felt like I was passed by a million folks during the bike portion of the race. Overall I finished 75th out of around 225. With no swimming at this multisport event lots of cyclist (damn good ones!!) come out of the woodwork to compete.
Definitely makes me think I need to train harder to play with the big boys at these races.
Dancer ran and biked hard and I am sure she will post her own race report with her details!! We both just keep looking forward with 11 weeks to our Ironman.

Nice Job! Keep up the training and I am sure your times will come down. I don't have any experience in dualathalons so I am not sure how good your transition times are.
I am looking to try a dual down here if I can find one that I can use my mountain bike in!

I'm starting to think these dualathalons sound fun - except for the leg cramps. Great job!!

Good job Happy! I'm always impressed by how fast some of the riders are too.

You should PM Peter P if you have questions about the race, he did it last year (and ROCKED, I might add....)
