This is a pet peeve of mine. Why do we do this?
From what I understand, this was a cost savings effort, started by the Germans, during WWI. So there would be more normal daylight for the factory workers.
In the winter of '73-'74, Dick Nixon made the daylight savings year-round for awhile to deal with a then-energy crisis. It was loads of fun starting my 8 AM class in college and it still being dark outside. Shocked

Well, we're not changing our clocks just now. We've never changed our clocks in any of the cities I've lived in in Indiana. However, the House Committee just passed the bill to change it, which means it goes to the Full House (not to be mistaken with Danny, DJ, et al) where it is thought it will pass and that will be that. June 5, I think it is, we will spring ahead, and will fall back whenever y'all springers and faller-backers do that sort of thing too.

I don't care one way or the other, not really, but you know, every year or two or whatever they talk about participating in DST and there's a big ruckus. It will be nice to just do it and get it over with already.

You're in Indy, right? So, if this passes, you & my other friends in Indy will do the DST time. Right? <Head spinning now.>

No, I'm in Terre Haute, but yes, your Indy friends will be moving to DST if the House votes the way they're (media) saying they will.

Why does losing an hour have to suck so bad?

we pushed it bowling last night and got home around two, post time change. Then we were laying in bed talking about everything that happened that day, and all of last week. I think I fell asleep after three.

This morning I woke up 15 minutes before we were supposed to be somewhere, got there late, I got a migraine so we left there early, now my hub is asleep again and here I am, not able to. I feel like I've had ten years of my life sucked away.

You can do what I used to do and not change your clocks for a few days/weeks to try to fool your brain to think that you've still got that extra hour.

It got to be a pain though, because you have to constantly be in check with what the actual time is though.
