This needs to be carefully watched. |
If they were attacked and then retaliated, they wouldn't be in violation of the law. Preemption is the problem.

Lack of preemption could prove to be an even bigger problem.

i have to agree wi G3 here. Just because someone can do bad, doe snot mean that they will. HOWEVER if they do, time to let the 3 trillion megaton of WHOOP AZZ out of the can and let dust be the biggest part of the buildings that power owns. a simple warning, for the general public is sufficient at that point. all president/dictator/ruling party owned buildings will be destroyed after a specific date.

You think we should wait for them to nuke someone? You think it's OK to trust them with a nuclear bomb?

Stop flip-flopping. Your premise was that a country's past history could/should be held against it. When it was pointed out to you that in the case of Iran, there is no past history of nuking anyone, you changed your argument. If it was a good enough argument to make, it's a good enough one to stand behind and substantiate. So answer the point, please.

Had the world been made aware of it, perhaps the several millions in the Nazi death camps would have had a chance to survive. If you assume they are not doing something bad doesn't mean they actually aren't (this was the whole problem with Iraq - no one's got clue one on what really was happening).
And a "simple warning"? What do you mean - you tell the people in City X, "We're throwing nuclear weapons on your town - you've got two hours to evacuate"? "We're sending smart bombs after you in three hours - stay away from the government buildings if you know what's good for you." You can't tell the people without the bad guys finding out. And they'll bail out or use the ensuing destruction to their advantage - "This was a elementary school." "This was a baby milk factory - see the sign?"

I didn't suggest that Iran had nuked anyone. I was referring to the point about that "someone had been bad."
Iran's past history is bad as is their agression toward Isreal. They ain't exactly Switerzland. Maybe we can appoint a few more level-headed Iranians to the UN Security Council.
