that someone under the age of 18 can run? The only ones I know of are the Toronto Marathon and the Ottawa marathon. If I'm not mistaken, you have to be over 18 to run them. I'd like to train for one coming up soon, insted of waiting untill I'm 18. Does anyone know of one? Even a 10k would be good, or should I just stick to cross country? Thanks.

Toronto you have to be over 18.

Ottawa you need parents permission if you are under 19

Here is the Ottawa form: http://www.ncm.ca/content_files/ncm_regforme.pdf

Alright thats awsome, I'm sure my parents would approve once I'm trained up. Thanks, I appriciate it! Very Happy

edit: On that link, it said you needed parents permission if you're under 18 (or 19, I forget), but on the rules page, it says you have to be over 18. Does this just exclude the parents permission part, or what? Here's the link: http://www.ncm.ca/race_rules-en.html?page=race_rules&lang_id=1&page_id=106 5th from the bottom I think. Thanks.

Mike, here's more:

Mississagua. But I can't tell about age limits.

Gloucester half, in Ottawa. Looks like that one you can enter.

Run for the Grapes (half), St. Catherine's. Again, can't really tell. But I would think you'd be able to do these, too.

Hey Mike,

Fellow Ontarian here - I live in Mississauga. There are a TON of road races in Ontario at all times of the year. Google "running road races in Ontario" would be a good start. I was looking at a marathon on the north side of Georgian Bay (between Sudbury and Sault Ste Marie) called the Friendly Massey Marathon (they have a half as well) link:

www.friendlymasseymarathon.com

Looks like you could do this race. Might be a long drive depending on where you live. But it seems like just about every city in the province has a marathon or half marathon event at some time during the year.

I'm doing the Mississauga 1/2 in May (my first) and running the Toronto marathon in October (also my first). You have to be over 18 for both of these races though. Good luck!

Hey Mike,
The Labour Day Oakville Half is on Sept 1 and you don't have to be over 18.
