Jerry Pournelle on his site has great vision about the space program.
Some of you may recognize him as the SciFi writer--but he is a very, very educated and well respected member of the science/space community.

Overall, some things can't be analyzed in $$$ (will NY revoke my CPA license for writing this?? ) Exploration is part of what makes us human, and teaches us much about the universe we live in. How can we NOT explore space? Having said this I think we should pick our projects carefully. We can't do it all, and we (the US) shouldn't do it alone. I'm not sure privatization is the answer - we don't need a space program concerned about Wall Street's expectations!!

Would I be labelled anti-American if I openly admitted to not liking Tang?

No, however I do think you would be labeled as "one who has working taste-buds"!

No. Tang is nasty. It is one of the biggest disappointments of my childhood.

I think it's important. If an asteriod or something were on a path to hit Earth, then would you think it wasn't so important? It could possibly save people someday.

I didn't say Tang was good. Although I recall liking the orange flavor as a kid. The grape was heresy, though.

We were never given tang. I wonder if Dr Phil has an episode for people like me.

I'm reminded of Life of Brian:
"Ok, ok, so apart from roads, medicine, sanitation, (etc. etc) ... and public health, WHAT have the Romans ever done for us?"
