We each have our own and kept it that way since day one. If I get something I want my wife to look at I'll forward it or leave it in the inbox for her to look at.

we both have several of our own. i know he knows all of my passwords and i think i know his, but i have enough to worry about than going thru his email and vice versa.
i have friends who have a "joint" email and its a pain. i think the guy checks it most often and frequently forgets to tell the wife things.

We have a shared home email address. I have a yahoo address and2 school addresses he doesn't know the passwords to because he doesn't care.
