And get rid of things on trash day? I get rid of mostly paper she's cut to ribbons and old toys she's outgrown or used to death. I've had a run of bad luck lately tho. Nichole had this bag of crap ( deflated balloons, pencil shavings, yarn, paper shreds) so I tossed the whole thing. Turns out there were parts to a toy she just got for her b-day in there. I feel like a heel.

I have done that as well.
Now Cait (my oldest) does a lot of cleaning/clearing out the trash herself. She gets all when she sees me coming with the trash bag. So, she saves me the time of doing it.
What's the deal with little girls and saving everything (scraps of paper, ribbons, used stickers, etc...)????

We keep all paper products in a bin in the pantry to recycle.
I do not keep everything Little Poky makes at daycare, however Little
Poky gets highly offended if she finds any of her stuff in the recycle bin.
She drags it out and makes me put it back on the fridge.

Yep, I do this, too!
Before every Christmas and birthday I make him go through the room with me to give stuff away and throw stuff away.
I am constantly amazed how much stuff my kid has!

BINGO!
Same here with the school stuff. I keep some things, but you just can't keep it all. I feel like a cat covering up my poop when I'm throwing her papers away.

I do this very often in the boys' room. It's mostly garbage, but sometimes it's toys. Happy meal variety usually. I put all those in a box to give to goodwill, along with other toys they don't play with anymore. Right now I have 3 boxes in Jake's closet, and if they don't ask for anything in the next few months, they will go to goodwill.
Libby does her own room. She knows I'll start pitchin, so she keeps it tidy herself. Only took 11 years to get her to do it too!

India's very messy, but likes a clean sweep every once in a while, and can't tolerate a toy that's not complete or broken.
Bella's very neat, but a horder. I have to go through her stash and get rid of the really offensive stuff on quite a regular basis. Just to find out that it was an Acorn COLLECTION that I've gotten rid of, or (shuddering) her famous fuzzy buckeye collection from last year.
Just another example of the inexplicable differences between two kids born 21 months apart!

We tried this with our son's room for about ten years with no success. MW has testified to this in another thread.
When we went to see him in Colorado last weekend, we walked in his dorm room and ACTUALLY SAW THE FLOOR. My wife nearly fainted - I think the co-ed living across the hallway is having an influence on him. Now if she just get him to cut his hair; he hasn't gotten it done since going there - when my wife and I saw him, we looked at each other and said, "Kelso."

What means it? | Ashton Kutcher's - sorry, Mr. Demi Moore's - character on "That 70s Show."

My parents never went through our bedrooms as children. They did require that we keep it neat and clean and would walk in to them to ensure those standards. But as far as them going through our bedrooms to clean them, no. And to my knowledge they never went through them looking for anything else either.
