accidentally come across a website that scares the sh*t out of you? I was google searching for the image of a police baton.
I clicked on one and came up with a Canadian "Freedom Forum" that espoused all sorts of things that are downright scary. At the beginning the language is normal and didn't arouse my suspicions. Then I clicked on a thread and OMG!
Does that ever happen to you? Are you ever worried your visit is tracked?

Last year, while doing some research on canines, I clicked on a website that was for folks into S&M and showed pictures of guys dressed as dogs...it was an advertisement for "tails". I'll let your imagination guess where/how you attached these.

i think the important question here is: how long did you stick around for after you realized what was going on?

For about 5 seconds.
And for the East Coasters: If you want to go to Dick's Sporting Goods website, it's a good idea to type the WHOLE NAME.

Absolutely!! I've had a couple of brain farts and made that mistake at work! Luckily, our IT Dept. has realistic expectations that goofs like that will occur on an almost daily basis throughout the building.

I was looking for a product made by Mencom and I miss typed the address on the web and next thing you know I was at shaft.com. It was all I could do to close the web browser, and then all the stupid popups kept coming up.
Now, I just don't use their products, I am scared for life!

go to www.mozilla.org and download firebird. It's a great browser and it blocks popups. I haven't seen one since I've started using it!

Oh, and kids? When doing reports on the white house? the website ends in a .gov. Take this from the college roommate of a girl who refused to go to the campus library again after that little typo and a million pop ups on the first computer in the lab that everyone can see...

I second Mozilla. It rocks! That's pretty much all I use now.
