don't even look over there. act nonchalant, continue about your business, and quietly move on.............
I got another letter from the IRS today. A few of you know that I had gotten one about 6 weeks ago and it wasn't pretty. Today's letter says that they have applied $130.90 of the overpaid tax from 2002 to the unpaid balance of other Federal Taxes which their records show we owe.
It also says they will be mailing a refund of the remainder. "If you have any questions, please call us at the number listed above." What??? and have you reconsider this refund??? NO WAY!
keltic quietly folds the letter and stores it in a safe place

Just a hunch, but have you gotten you child credit refund yet? I'd guess they "netted" the balance with that and chinked the $400 a child you got coming.

no on the child credit refund, but because I was defaulted on Student Loans, I never got refunds. seems odd that they would be planning on sending a refund now. Technically I'm still in default eventhough I am paying that loan on a monthly basis.
The amounts though look like it could be close enough that it's possible they did that.
