After doing my long run yesterday I got dizzy and a terrible case of the spins. Is this a sign of dehydration?
Has this ever happened to any of you?
I could not walk for a few minutes until I sat and had something to drink. I've never experience something like this brought on by any of my long runs. It was in the 90's when I ran...BTW.

I'd say that was the case. Even without saying you got dizzy, I doubt a person is capable of drinking enough while running a long run in 90+ degree heat.. dehydration is inevitable.
ps... running in 90-degree heat.

It's happend to me a few times. There's usually a reason for it (too hot, being sick, just plain over doing it) so I don't worry too much about it.
Sit down, rest, eat, drink it will pass.

Its possible that your blood pressure may have dropped.
What else were your symptoms?

Never thought of the BP factor.
I just walked into my house, took two steps up the stairs and could not see straight. I literally saw everything spinning. It was hot and you know me...I'm not a great water drinker. I should put it altogether and drink tons of water before setting out.
I did wear my Camelbak...and stopped for a Gatorade half way through my run. I just didn't see this coming, because I felt fine during my actual run. It hit me when I went indoors.
I think I need to do some serious thinking about my H2O consumption and Diet Coke for that matter.

Might want to cut back on the diet coke. The caffiene (sp), will cause you to sweat of some of the water that you are storing

The same thing happened to me once. I had been running at the beach (about 13 miles) in really hot temps. I came back to the hotel, took a shower, started fixing something to eat and then immediately started feeling the room spin. My husband (who might as well be a doctor with all the medical background he has) told me I needed to cool my core body temp down more so he ran a tub of cool water for me and everything was fine.
Since then I ALWAYS take an ice bath after a long run - especially one in high temps. I haven't had the problem since.

I have 3 guesses......dehydration, low blood sugar, overhydration.
dehydration.....dizziness, maybe a headache and it goes away after chugging a few bottles of water.
well.....you have to watch it in high temperatures.....as it may NOT be dehydration. If you drank alot of water.....you may have depleted your sodium level and more water is NOT good. If you feel that you haven't sweated enough, it might not be a good idea to chug more water.
Also, I know that you are upping your mileage for a marathon. I had the dizziness symptoms with hypoglycemia. I wasn't keeping up with caloric intake for the extra miles I was putting in. If you regain composure pretty instantly after a chug of gatorade....it would be a good sign that low blood sugar might be the problem and you have to work on levelly out your meals.....small portions, frequently.
