Since I was very young I made it a habit to keep most of my life very private. What I show here online is what you could gather by spending 20-30 minutes with me.

There are a chosen few who know much of my private life. With the exception of maybe one person, no one else knows all of my private life.

I have no secrets to hide or anything I am ashamed of, but I just rather keep the important things to myself.

There are a couple of people online who I've shared more with than others, but that's only after a long trust base has been built.

Essentially, I just don't play the trust game well.

Okay, so if you have nothing to hide or anything that you are ashamed of then what is the issue with trust? In other words, when I don't trust people then I'm not trusting them with more "private" issues. Like if I'm having problems in my marriage I don't think I should announce it to everyone. But, if someone looked at my marriage and said "it looks like you might be going through some issues in your marriage" then I would tell them I was and possibly even go into some detail (depending on how well I know them). It's not like I would hide the fact but I may not tell all the details. Is that where you are coming from or would you just not even let them know you were having problems at all?

Just curious.

I'm like Aire. I'll share some of my childhood weird things, but things I'm currently facing are usually not made public. It is a matter of trust for me and I do feel like I'm trying harder to be open, it's probably very therapeutic-- but I sink to old ways. I've had many trust issues in my life. My own sisters cannot be trusted with any private affairs, why would strangers?? Yet, I am the one they can come to with confidential information.

I've always been intrigued by people like MW and nrgy that are very open and look to them as examples of strength. Most things online people know about me they could probably google. you'll have to PM me to get my dirty secrets...... Mr. Green Mr. Green

So have I, but only once.

I also bought the t-shirt.

I think the lyrics of this song pretty much explain our motives and why we have secrets...

Billy Joel
» The Stranger

Well we all have a face
That we hide away forever
And we take them out and
Show ourselves
When everyone has gone

Some are satin some are steel
Some are silk and some are leather
They're the faces of the stranger
But we love to try them on

Well we all fall in love
But we disregard the danger
Though we share so many secrets
There are some we never tell
Why were you so surprised
That you never saw the stranger
Did you ever let your lover see
The stranger in yourself?

Don't be afraid to try again
Everone goes south
Every now and then
You've done it, why can't
Someone else?
You should know by now
You've been there yourself

Once I used to believe
I was such a great romancer
Then I came home to a woman
That I could not recognize
When I pressed her for a reason
She refused to even answer
It was then I felt the stranger
Kick me right between the eyes

Well we all fall in love
But we disregard the danger
Though we share so many secrets
There are some we never tell
Why were you so surprised
That you never saw the stranger
Did you ever let your lover see
The stranger in yourself?

Don't be afraid to try again
Everyone goes south
Every now and then
You've done it why can't
Someone else?
You should know by now
You've been there yourself

You may never understand
How the stranger is inspired
But he isn't always evil
And he isn't always wrong
Though you drown in good intentions
You will never quench the fire
You'll give in to your desire
When the stranger comes along.

I prefer a little Springsteen:

So when you look at me
you better look hard and look twice
Is that me baby
or just a brilliant disguise

Nope. Even simple things. I have just had enough people hurt me with things I've chosen to share before that it's just pointless to do so now.

So, I figure it's none of anyone's business. Mr Aire is pretty much the only one who has cared enough to stick around and has never really hurt me with any of the truths he knows about me.

I just don't trust people easily.

I don't think there is much that I have not or would not share here....and nothing I have not shared with MW.

I have a couple of unhappy experiences from my childhood, but nothing that I would not share if asked.

Well, I used to be a lot more trusting, until one person came along and ruined that, but I'll say that the things I don't share aren't necessarily about trust, it's more I don't want to be treated differently for someone's knowing various things about me, and also I'm pretty private and I don't want the world knowing my bidness.

I'm truly sorry for allowing your love of Schlitz to become public knowledge.

I know that was in revenge for my having outed you earlier. I'm sorry, too, Rob. Please still adore me.
