Most of you know that my boss sponsors me as an athlete and pays most of the costs of the races and the "other" stuff.
Well, one of my patients just offered me a sponsorship. More money and and up in the travel expense.
Here is the problem. I don't like her, and I'm sure that my boss would be pretty pissed if I took on another medical sponsor. Although the 2 are different. She owns/runs a home health agency and I am cardiology.
I sure could use the extra bucks. You all know the prices of the race registration and the travel can get out of hand.
The offer was near 5k/year. Pretty hard to turn away. I know my boss isn't gonna match that.
Your thoughts.

Why would he be upset with your taking on another sponsor?

I don't think he cares if I take on another sponsor, but i'm pretty sure he wants me to spend my time for his company.
I guess I could do both.
RR, I was drawing her blood when she offered. I have my "hardware on display in the office with a sign saying The Cardiology Center sponsors me.

Multiple sponsorship is common. Go with both.

My thoughts...
Perhaps your boss would see this as something positive about you and your training by having other people interested in sponsoring you. Meaning, you're getting attention elsewhere and his money is well spent too. It should make his convictions clear that you're not wasting a dime of his and you really strive to do well in all you do.

Is there any inference that if you change sponsors you could lose your job?

But for guys like you and me, you get a much longer impression time per viewer. We are a steal!

I had no idea you were sponsored. Cool for you. I don't think the issue is about having more than one sponsor. It sounds like the issue is you don't like this woman and are wondering if the money is worth continuing to deal with her.

Follow the lead of pro athletes - go for the money while proclaiming all along "it's not about the money, it's about being respected".

Swallow your pride and take the offer. If it will help you in your racing and someone is offering you the means to do it......take the money.
