I don't get it. Is it really a way to lose weight? Has anyone proclaimed, "I lost 102 pounds by switching from regular Pepsi to Diet Pepsi"?

For some reason, the fridge here at work has slid into a total diet soda inventory. Is water really such a bad thing if you want no calories? Having a beverage with a meal really doesn't contribute much flavorwise. I mean, you want to taste the food, right? Not drown it in cola flavor.

Bueller??

my name is pffff and I am a diet coke addict. I have my habit down to just one occasionally, maybe 2 a week max, but I was a raging 3-4 a day back at my worst. I blame it on my dieting mother and sisters in the 80s who banned full sugared soft drinks from our home. I don't think I've had a regular soda since I was 9. Even if I'm eating a plateful of cheese fries. Its not even about the calories, its about the need for aspartame. I have no explanation. Neutral

I do drink mostly water though now.

Hi Pffff, Poky and Happy!!

My name is Angie and my addiction is Diet Dr Pepper. I also love Diet Coke. I love the tingly flavor! A regular Coke just doesn't jazz me unless I have a tummy ache.

I love diet cokes. My doctor in Joisey used to drink 4 a day. I will do 1 a day, max.

Water is too boring.

At the office, about every other drink is water and diet Coke/Pepsi. I drink a lot of both.

At home its almost exclusively diet decaf iced tea

This is a good topic:) The way I look at it is If I drink a regular coke
I am wasting 160-200 calories that i could be eating Mr. Green

I started drinking diet drinks after my first child and once you get use to it, drinking a regular coke is like drinking straight sugar.

But I am w/you ,on tasting the food , I drink water with lunch/dinner and limit my diet dews to snack time.

My name is Genie and I am a diet Mt. Dew Code Red addict. For me it's the taste. I honestly have to force myself to drink enough water because the stuff is so darn blah. I drink a lot at work but I don't like it. I usually splash a tiny bit of Gatorade in it, or a little Crystal Light or something, or a squeeze of lemon. Water just tastes like......nothing.

My newest addiction, which started last night, is Diet Snapple Cranberry-Raspberry drink. It's not a tea, it's a fruit beverage. 20 calories a bottle and none of that aspartame aftertaste! YUMMMMMMY!!!

'Course now that fall's coming I gotta lay in my stash of diet hot cocoa mix Twisted Evil

I despise diet pops of all kinds. Give me a high test Coke or Pepsi any time. And I'm not particular to either one.

ditto. full power coke, only. pepsi is kinda gross i think. all dieet stuff is nasty. blech puke

its funny, when i was a kid, all my mom drank was pepsi, so thats the only soda we would ever have in the house. then when my mom quit caring about anyone except herself, my dad started buying coke at the request of my little bro. since then coke is pretty much the only soda ill drink.

dont like pepsi, dr pepper/mr pibb, mtn dew and sprite (and their pepsico counterparts) are alright, but nothing beats a coke.

My name is Marcie and I can't get enough of the Diet Coke. I will admit that there are days where I go through two 44oz. cups of the stuff and feel no shame. I can wake up or go to be drinking the stuff and I tell you this has got to stop. One way or another, I have to break this addiction!

I know I'll have massive caffeine withdrawals and headaches when I do. Neutral

Surprised No Kidding? I never thought of that. Wink

I know...I'm bad. I kicked the habit last spring and was doing great until a few weeks ago. I made it through the headache withdrawals (5 solid days of it) and started to drink the H2O. So, I just have to make myself not drink them. I'll get myself back into action again once it cools off. I think I started back up while in FL and was dealing with my allergy outbreaks there. Don't know the excuse here for I'm allergy free in AZ.
