Well since this is the second marathon I am going to do I thought I would actually try writing down a schedule and see if I can stick to it. All the distances are just distances. I havent decided where I am going to work any speedwork into these distances.
Do most of you plan out your training for a race to this detail? This is my first attempt at it.

Well Week 1 is down and I ended up at 36.25 miles for the week. Feeling okay so far. As I get a little farther along I will need to work on my speed a little bit.

Looks good FB. You should do well. And to answer your question, yes I plan all my training in at least that much detail. I also put in my periodization routine.

Do you have a particular race time that you're aiming for? When I was training for a half, I followed a schedule and it really helped. I plan to do the same thing when I start marathon training this or next year, being that next year is just around the corner. Good luck to you. It looks good so far.

I am training for my second go round at the Jacksonville Marathon on December 14. This is the first time I have set down such a detailed list of the days and the miles. I have enjoyed it so far. The only thing I might need to work on is working my speed workouts in to this schedule. Maybe in the spring.
