There are people I have met who are so classless that they don't know how to accept a real apology and insist on sticking it to you no matter what.

I didn't say anything about giving an apology (for what anyway ?) Just keep acting polite. It totally disarms them since they are expecting a fight. If there is anyone watching, you turn out to be the good guy - they look like a hot headed horse's patoot.

Just thinking about a situation I was in once where I made a mistake and apologized, and was nothing but polite--and I still got kicked.

People are funny sometimes, and not in a "ha ha" sort of way. Sad
