In college, it was pinnocle (sp?) no doubt about it.
Now, it's probably hearts or Euchre.
My son's favorite game is War. And reguardless of how long the game takes...he always wants to play until he wins once.
(I hate War )

1 on the Euchre!!! Not too many folks play it in Wisconsin though... I am not a big Sheepshead fan at all.

Spades. The only problem is finding a good partner.
Nothing beats a good game of in between though. (With lots of alcohol)

War is the simplest card game known to man. You deal out the cards evenly...keep them all face down...turn over your top cards...highest card takes the trick...
In the event of a tie for the highest card...the two parties go to "War". The top two cards from your pile go face down in the middle, and the third card gets flipped over. Highest card takes all the cards, including those not flipped over.
You play until you have no cards left. One person ends up with all the cards.

Many late nights (mornings!) in college playing spades. @sshole was pretty much our standard drinking game.

I also like Gin Rummy and Canasta, but I haven't played the latter in years and would need a refresher course.
Oh yeah, and Hearts and Spider!
