Guy at work whose gf's personal computer I've fixed in the past told me that he got a new computer for Christmas and would be giving me his old one if I wanted it. He said it was a little old but didn't give any specifics.
I came in to find it sitting in my office this AM. The thing is a 286 12 Mhz machine. Probably has 2 Megs of RAM and a 400 Meg hard drive. Let's hope the monitor is worth saving because the rest of it is just junk.
With my luck, it's probably not even a color monitor.

How about a 5.25" floppy drive instead?

I'm not sure it's capable of running Windows 3.1. It does have an AT keyboard though. I need one of those for a back up.

You could break it apart and use the parts for something.
I know a guy who uses a CD-ROM drive as a cupholder.

I have a few old computers to get rid of. I'm too embarrassed to donate them because they probably won't run much. A 133Mhz with NT server. A 166 running '98. A five year old Mac.

Can you open the chassis, poop on the motherboard, put the chassis back together and put the computer in his office? Just a suggestion....

It's too old to have a CD-ROM drive.
I did hook the monitor up to a machine and it is a color model and it supports up to a whopping 640 x 480 resolution!

Set it up in the server room, and let Joel pee on it as he pleases.

I looked at it again this morning and it's too old to even have a mouse.
