At least the one I almost hit last night did! I know that NONE of the cyclists here would do this, but I'm driving through lovely wooded Bucks county last night, and this idiot cyclist emerged full speed out the woods on the other side of the blind curve I was approaching. He did not bother to look in either direction, and proceeded to cross over four lanes of traffic to the other side of the streets for the rest of his trail. Thank god he was wearing Purple Hayes Yellow or I would've flattened him like a pancake! In an effort to avoid this jerk, three cars collided (thankfully, I was not one of them).
With all the people who intentionally try to hit them, and with all those who unintentionally hit them, you would think cyclists would be a little more careful when they can control the level of safety.

Did he stop and check to see if everyone was OK? Since, as you described, he was the cause of the accident, I'm sure the police would like to talk to him.

No. Once he crossed the road, he got back on his trail and just continued on his merry way as if nothing had happened. He didn't look around once, which was what frightened me the most. And he clearly was the cause of the accident, which, thankfully, was just minor fender benders for all parties involved.

It's too bad cyclists do not have license plate numbers for drivers to record.

I would love to talk to that cyclist. He could be cited and possibly arrested for leaving the scene of an accident. He was obviously at fault.
He gives the 99 % of the law abiding cylists a real bad name.
