So, if you were getting a trainer, which brand would you recommend and why?
P.S. I don't trust the quilting forum for this. I came to experts.

I have a CycleOps trainer and I really like it. I believe it is the Mag II.
I went through two trainers prior to this one (cheapo's), I decided to spend a little bit of money and get a better one. It was around 169 bucks
I've put over 2000 miles on it and so far no problems.
Never heard of the Kurt brand.

I haven't used, nor do I sell, the Cyclops brand, yet. I do have a Kurt Kinetic that I've had for about 7 years and it's never leaked. I put a lot of miles on it every year too. It isn't very noisy. Is very, very stable (and heavy). I bought the heavier flywheel and gives it a nice feel.
I have heard good things about the Cyclops Fluid trainers lately, but I know that in the past there were leakage problems.
I'd say either way you'll be satisfied. I would not recommend a magnetic trainer personally.
Things to consider:
How stable is it, especially when standing up?
How noisy is it?
How heavy is the flywheel (better spin down)?
Does the resistance mimic road conditions?
How is the customer support and warrenty (Kurt has a lifetime warrenty)?
What software and bike computers work with it?
