Obviously mine didn't take. And now it's passing to others too.

I just need to vent.

In the last month and a half

1)A good friend/business partner with SO died unexpectedly

2) My ankle got screwed up majorly

3) some icehole hit my car and didn't stop or report and I didn't discover it until the next morning; the alignment/wheel/rim torsion bar stuff has been fixed by my sun god of an Acura mechanic and friend Chris, but they don't do body work That's a handful of $$$. Or it will be, At least Chris is my friend and charges me next to nothing for the mechanical stuff and does a kick-butt job. He is truly the best.

4) I got my 60 day notice at work and even though I hated the job I need the benefits right now.

5) Tonight, my talented and funny and beautiful S/O cut the you-know what out of his right (working) hand on a 10 inch French knife. Right through the palm. We were in the Er for 6 and a half hours and he finally got admitted AFTER he passed out TWICE in reception area from blood loss. I've never seen that much blood anywhere in my life.

He has 23 stitches and has to follow up with the surgeon because they think he has some tendon damage but they couldn't get that evaluated tonight because of the swelling and the pain. He can't use his hand at all and they are short still because of an incident earlier this year (see above); it's hard to find someone who can just jump into a four-star restaurant and bar and handle everything well.

I really don't want to see tomorrow at this point. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. I know it will be better in the morning (afternoon, at this point) but right now I don't have anyone to talk to as it's almost 5 am and it feels like the whole world is crashing down. Ans my main means of coping (running or rollerblading or kickboxing or biking)are still pretty much forbidden so what I am supposed to do? Drink? Smoke crack? Shoot Up? Any ideas?

Thank you. I am really trying.

To add insult to injury, as I was trying to get his hand wrapped up to get into the car the dog made off with my dinner (two medium rare wasabi encrusted tuna filets with hiajikii salad) and left his (prime friggin rib) alone.

Did I mention we also have a major mold problem? The extent of the damage was discovered during some torrential rain this weekend.

If you want to offer me chese to go with this whine I would like a nice sage derby. Or some gorgonzola if you also have Granny Smith Apples.

zWOW! I hope things start to get better for you. It sure sounds like you have used up your quota of bad luck for the first 6 months of the year.

Good luck and I am sure things will start to turn around for you.

You have had horrible luck lately! (stay away from the crack...it's hard to get good quality crack with your luck)

I wish there was something I could say to make it better. I hope your SO heals quickly, and doesn't have tendon damage.

I'm sending happy, lucky thoughts your way.

Kristin---

Shocked

holy crap - you have HAD it. Let's look at this as a test of Kristin's fortitude??? Confused can't believe the knife accident. how horrible. my husband cut his hand whilst sharpening the lawn mower blade and i know what you mean about the blood
his sounds like a fairly serious injury, though. the restaurant is "jinxed"..or so it would seem. Running, etc is such a safety net for all of us and when it is unexpectedly yanked away, it SUCKS....

thank God for friends named Chris; and the opportunity to get a new and better job???

since you can't run and prolly don't want the extra calories from drinking, i'd opt to smoke crack -- just for now. Wink and continue to rant here.

you're due for a change of tides my dear......

too bad

I was gonna say, it doesn't solve anything, but sometimes one good night of "galavanting" can usually help let off some steam.

K, that is just the worst string of luck I have heard of in a long while. Hang Tough, OK? (Start humming the New Kids song right now)

kristin----ouch!!!! That's a pretty bad run Sad . I hope once the swelling goes down, that they'll find everything intact. He's gonna need a lot of support in the upcoming months when things like shampooing hair, signing his name is almost impossible. I became a righty for a good 6 months after a hand injury......back to being lefty again Mr. Green Hang it there....this stuff is just making you stronger.

Kristin, YIKES! I am so sorry to hear about the knife incident. Thats exactly what you both did NOT need on top of everything else. Hang in there, from what I know you're one strong woman and I know you'll snap this string of luck soon.

Did Genie find lice? I better check too... too bad
