The student chapter of AGC has an annual scholarship that we just renamed to honor one of our late classmates (as in no longer living). I am eligible this semester because I'm not an officer. This scholarship application process is very informal, so I decided to be creative.
I wrote a Top Ten Reasons why I deserve this scholarship as my "short summary on why you deserve this scholarship", ala David Letterman. DH says it was inappropriate. I think creativeness in an informal competition will give me an edge.
What say you?

I got a job once by being very creative and unconventional on my cover letter - it probably gave me the inside track before the interview process.
However, in my case a lot had to do with the person doing the hiring.
I guess my point is being creative can work to your advantage but of course not everone will be receptive to it.

Its from one of the Judy Garland (close oh so close !!) Mickey Rooney "teen musicals" from MGM:
Babes in Arms (1939), Strike Up the Band (1940), Babes on Broadway (1941), or Girl Crazy (1943). Take your pick, the story line was about the same...
