Yesterday was my first day of vacation. My grandpa in Detroit has been ill. I found out a few days ago that he wasn't going to make it much longer. Then I find out yesterday that he fell out of bed and broke a bone in his neck.  About 10 minutes after I found that out from my dad (we both had aching backs and ran into each other at the chiropractor's) my mom calls and says she's been in a car accident.  Of course I had already left the office where my dad was at and he wasn't carrying his cell phone.
For some crazy reason my mom wouldn't go to the hospital in the ambulance so I had to high tail it out to the accident scene and pick her up and take her to the hospital. Mom was very lucky. It was a pretty bad accident. Some knucklehead kid pulled right out in front of her. She's got an ankle the size of a softball and 2 broken toes. Of course she's more upset that her trip to Detroit has been delayed a few days and today being a holiday doesn't help any either.  Heck I'm afraid to leave the house today, no telling what will happen. 
Tomorrow I need to make a few arrangements and then I'll be going to Detroit myself. Wish me luck.
