too bad Poor Cappy!! That really sucks.....you might want to discuss cortisone shots, they hurt like hell when you get them but they really do help. I had bad inflammation in my hip and it worked for months. I still had to stay off it to get better, but the cortisone really took the pain away.

You hang in there......we're all here for ya, buddy!!

Hang in there Cappy, I know what you're going through. After my stress fracture and bike wreck combo, I was out of commission for a while too.

I'll check you for lice if it makes you feel any better. too bad

Greg you almost printed what I went through in Jan 2001. I had hip bursitis, have leg length diff the same .25 on my left leg. I did 8 weeks of PT and also got orthotics for the leg diff (they really help). I also got a cortisone shot in my hip, help for a bit but was right back to square one. If you want to discuss this more PM me. Believe me I know exactly what you are going through and it will get better, just keep some positive vibes going!

Thanks everyone. Perhaps this little setback will be just what the body needs. I know I have some options available to me, so I have some thinking I need to do.

So for now, its taking it easy.

Good Luck! I'd go for the cortisone shot too; I had hip bursitis and that seemed to help. Well, that and rest. Do you swim at all? Rest is really the best thing for this, unfortunately I know that's not what you want to hear.

One tip from someone who has been there; get stretches to do after you are healed for that area. That area will get tight/sore again at some point after you are healed and the stretches will help immensely!!

Greg have you checked your bike setup? Maybe this is contributing to your bursitis - with the leg length difference you may need to get one cleat built up a little. I still say avoid the cortisone until you have exhausted all other avenues and resolved the underlying cause.

Plan on avoiding the corisone. Believe I am not looking for a temporary fix.

Just saw the FC doctor and he said I am healing up really well. My good condtioning, attitude, and compliance is paying dividends. He wished all of his patients were as complient as me
