What can I say? I love love love movies with lots of action and car chases and explosions. This one had all of that. The premise is Jason Statham is a hired killer. Supposedly he killed the leader of an Asian gang. So, in retribution, he was given a cocktail of drugs that would kill him if he didn't keep his adrenaline high.
Dwight Yoakum was his private doctor. That tells you a lot. What should tell you more: he was actually good.
Now for my opinion: This is another in a series of movies where it's not so much good vs evil as bad vs not as bad. There was no "good guy". The only reason you side with JS's character is because you don't know he's a hired killer, and he's just been poisoned by a slimy character. This was a disturbing movie. There were some very funny moments but there were also some very unsettling moments. I'm not a prude by any means, but this movie was just over the top. There is nudity, sexual activity, strong language, and violence. It is definitely R rated. I think it even pushed those boundaries by a bit.
