I am so impressed ~ you really looked like you were doing great. I saw some that were hurting and you could read it all over their faces. Poor things!
That was mile 4 of my 10K. I know about mile 5 (your 25) I thought if I could just hang on then I might make my time. Then I saw another damn hill. I cussed every hill after the 2nd hill I ran. I swear in 6 miles I had 5 hills!! The end was horrible. I pushed to try to finish fast (for me) and the end just drained me. My poor legs were NOT used to hills and that many with that strong wind drained me and I couldn't keep my pace. I know my last couple miles were slower.
I enjoyed watching the runners much more than running that morning!

Kat, it's easy to run a race that everything is going great. It take a lot more to keep running when things are not great. I think even more kudos to you for doing EXCEPTIONALLY well in, well basically, superpooper conditions. you rule woman, you rule!!!!
congrats on the finish and espeically the PR.

Great job in some tough conditions.
I bet the conditions in Chicago will be much better.

I ran each 1/2 half of the Cowtown marathon 3 different times before the race. It has actually more of inclines and some small rolling hills. There are several flat spots like up at the TCU area. There is a 3 mile flat spot thru the park and the 4 last rolling hills, including the final stretch thru downtown.
The Powerade guys got lost this year and didn't deliver on time. It raised such a stink, but the medals are very nice, t-shirts are pretty, plenty of water support, medical attention and awesome food tent. There is still no photographers at the event. The did advertise gells but I didn't see any, but there so many people giving of their hospitality, foods, entertainment, fried chicken (?) and other goodies.

Great Job Kattzoo!!!!!
I am sure that after you recover some you will rethink your idea not to run another marathon. I felt like that after my Jacksonville Marathon last December and I have already changed my mind again to go after my Boston Qualifiying time again in December.
Good Luck, Let your Leg heal and you will be running fast again real soon.
