This is as inspiring to me as a great race report. You run smart, and because of that will run another day (soon). 'Sucking it up' and 'running through the pain' are not what they're cracked up to be.

Overall you had a pretty good race. And there are always other races to run. Some days go well and others are a struggle, regardless of your preparation. It's a runner who knows when to stop instead of continuing on and making a running injury worse.
Congrats on the half and best wishes for your knee.
