I often take in 3-6 cups of water during a run. I do not count the water as water that I drink during the day. I usually take in 8-12 cups a day on top of that.
I figure the water I take in while running is replacement.
What do you think?

It's all in the color of your pee
You know, I'm the number guy, but don't keep track of my water intake and rarely drink during a run. But as long as I keep the pee clear, I figure I'm hittin' it right on.

I agree.
You should aim for 1 oz of water for every 2 pounds of body weight + what you use during a workout. I should be growing gills by now.
