So I've given up candy and soda for Lent.
Do cookies and brownies fall into the general "candy" category or do you think that's candy bars, hard candies and the like.

Cookies and brownies are baked goods. Candies are not. You're safe!
Will you give me some cookies and brownies now?

I think they fall into the candy category. Well, they are snacks, so if you're giving up snacks then you're out of luck.

See, I gave up chocolate. And any cookie or brownie worth its refined sugar is made of chocolate. Gooey rich chocolate and lots of it. So for me they are out. But thanks for saying 'brownie' and making me crave one.

Cookies and brownies are not candy in my book. A cookie with m&m's in them would be candy unless you took the m&m's out.

Chocolate in any form is out for me this Lenten season. I'm really trying. So far no major cravings. If your "sacrifice" is "candy" then baked goods would be OK but is that REALLY what you wanted to do ? Are you just looking for a loophole ?
------------ Comic Relief ------------------------
I remember once a very funny guy called James Coco was on the Carson Show talking about his diet. He mentioned how at Weight Watchers there's a weigh in and people "confess" about their "transgressions". At these confessions the audience gives encouragement and positive reinforcement.
One lady, came in, got on the scale, weighted herself, turned around and said:
"Sara Lee should just die !!"
