to President Bush on a hard-earned victory. While I know our great state of Ohio is officially a Bush victory I don't think Kerry can win a high enough percentage of the provisional ballots to pull it off. Not that he won't try though.

I'm unwilling to congratulate or concede just yet.
I would bite Rob's arm if he were here.
And Rob agrees, apparently.

Typical.
The difference in the two major parties is striking. Gerald Ford conceded Ohio in '76 to Jimmy Carter when he was only behind by 5K Votes there. Nixon conceded in '60 to JFK after multiple counts of voter irregularity in the Chicago area and gave up recount efforts in Illinois which ultimately decided that super close election.
Kerry is behind by almost 150K votes in Ohio. It's over.

Have they called any of the other four leftovers yet: WI, NV, NM or IA? They hadn't when I got here and I'm on my way to a meeting now.

WI will go Kerry....it's close and it was Bush all night....but dems vote late and I believe the Milw precincts are the late filers all the time...which in Dem territory. I knew it was bad when they said Wheingold won and the polls still had the hard numbers showing Michels ahead. It just told me that Madison and Milwaukee hadn't reported yet.

That's OK.....I expected it to be a lot farther spread than it is, so that in itself is a good sign for trends in WI. Not to mention that whether or not the popular vote "counts" as far the final results are concerned, it still makes a point: highest popular vote amount in history? First time a electoral winner has also won the popular vote in how many elections?
The people have spoken and that's all that really matters.
